If you are wanting to set up a 5.1 or 7.1 channel surround sound home theater audio system, you will need five or seven speakers plus a powered subwoofer to handle the low bass frequencies. (If you don't have room for a roomful of speakers, consider a virtual surround soundbar speaker.)
Pictured in the slideshow to the right are package deals where you can purchase either five or seven pre-matched surround speakers as a set, leaving you to separately select just the sub. Another possibility if you will be setting up 7.1 surround is to buy a 5-piece set and also order an additional matching speaker pair for the back surround channels.
Depending upon your particular situation, you may also need to buy (in-wall) speaker wire to connect each of the speakers to your home theater receiver, and maybe some mounting brackets or stands for locating speakers on the walls, ceiling, and/or floor. |
